What is Dracaena Fragrans?
Dracaena fragrans also called corn, is a flowering which is found in tropical Africa. It’s naturally found in Sudan south, Mozambique, Côte d'Ivoire and Angola.
Dracaena Fragrans grows in upland regions at a high altitude. It is also called striped dracaena and compact dracaena. They have green, long and wide leaves.
The flowers are usually pink, white or purple. Compact dracaena has nice fragrance and bear orange-red berry fruits. It has been said to aid in the removal of air pollutants like formaldehyde. Dracaena fragrans is toxic to cats and dog and should be kept away from them. It is usually grown by stem cutting and usually grows slowly.
Types of Dracaena Fragrans You Can Find in Hong Kong
Even though varieties of Dracaena fragrans are a bit numerous, they have similar qualities.
The most common types of Dracaena fragrans to find are Massangeana and Lindenii. They are widely used as indoor plants in Hong Kong. They tolerate shades and lower light, and they are easy to grow.
Other types are Victoria, Rothiana, and the “Dermenesis” Group.
